I’m going to be real, this blog wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the support from my loved ones and community, simple as that. Since choosing to start this blog, the insecurities and struggles have been TOO real. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed every single step of this crazy process and have been so blessed by the relationships being built, but at the end of the day I’m still spotlighting my own life and content on social media, and my life is far from perfect (scary right?!). Plus, I’m my own worst critic, so it’s easy for me to just sit there and wallow in all of my negative thoughts.
You see, when I first started thinking about creating a blog, all of my fears and insecurities told me I wasn’t pretty or good enough, so almost immediately I rejected the idea and stopped thinking about it at all. It was finally this past summer that I couldn’t shake the idea of chasing after this passion, but the insecurities and fear of rejection still haunted me. But do you know what it took for me to finally begin pursuing this? Literally just a simple conversation with someone I trusted. All it took was for me to open up to one of my best friends, to finally say it aloud, and to hear someone rebuke the lies I’ve been telling myself. I was just so blown away from all the love and support as I continued to share with my closest friends and family. As much as I have been investing in this blog, they have probably invested just as much into me! For all the moments I’ve fallen short and felt unworthy, they were there to pick me back up and shower me with love and encouragements.
One thing that I truly believe is that we were not meant to live this life and fight the good fight alone, God calls us to fellowship and love one another. We need our community to fight for us when we aren’t able to fight for ourselves, to rebuke the lies we tell ourselves and speak truth into our lives. We need our community to encourage and inspire us when we lack our own inspiration, and to believe in us when it gets too hard for us to believe in ourselves.
So, thank you to the friends and family who have been supporting me since day one (I don’t think I’ll ever stop saying this lol). And thank you to this amazing blogging community and the sweet friends I’ve had the joy of encountering! Y’all the real MVPs hehe.
*Just a few people (not all pictured, probably because I don’t have a picture with you lol) I love and adore, thankful for your support!
